Protemist DT II is a desktop robot for cell-free, hand-free, and maintenance-free protein production. With a protocol optimized for the wheat germ cell-free protein expression system, it performs transcription, translation, and batch affinity purification by itself in 35 hours.
It can run on either a 6-well format or a 24-well format to express up to 6 or 24 genes of interest. The robot produces up to 2 mg of proteins (crude) out of 1 ml of proprietary wheat germ extract, which translates to 2.5 to 3.0 mg of crude proteins per run. The batch affinity purification can be optimized by varying the temperature between 4 and 37C.
